Cervest is pioneering Earth Science AI to help businesses, governments and growers adapt to climate volatility. Using machine learning, it generates real-time streamed ‘signals’ to answer questions linked to climate uncertainty, land, and natural resources. It brings clarity to decisions to help mitigate risk, safeguard food and ensure economic security – and supports the restoration and resilience of our planet and its people.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and improving our flood modelling pipeline, for both riverine and coastal flooding, including in-house components and third-party integrations.
  • Writing clean, easy-to-understand code.
  • Teaching the team members how to use complex flood modelling software.
  • Communicating complex scientific concepts simply but non-reductively to other teams and clients.
  • Collaborating with designers and engineers


  • Flood modelling background, with industry experience.
  • Good understanding of both empirical and hydrodynamic flood models.
  • Good scientific communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current state-of-the-art in pre-computed flooding datasets.
  • Pragmatic approach to problem solving.
  • Solid software engineering skills.
  • Experience with Python.
  • (Desirable) Experience using climate simulations to drive flood models.
  • (Desirsble) Experience with Julia.
